13.- The Circus

Objectives:

  To identify the different parts of the circus. Technology.

  To understand which performances were carried out there and their functions.

  To appreciate the magnificence and role of the buildings


Curricular area:

Social Sciences.

Classical Culture.


Place: The Roman Circus.

Level: From 10 to 16 years old students.

Time: School year.

Activity:
Type:

Work “in situ”.

Description:

The students will work with the rests of the Circus, find out the Number of the arches, measure them, its height, visit the surveying structures and identify them. Walking along the streets, they will try to find out the rests in shops and modern buildings.

Material:

Dossier for students and laminated pictures.

Time:

Two hours.

Means of transport: On foot.

Observations

This activity has been designed to be autonomous.
