20.- From the egg to the apple (1)

Objectives:

  To identify and classify food.

  To understand Roman food and its ingredients in an elementary level.

  To understand the role of feeding habits.


Curricular area:

Knowledge of social and cultural environment.

Knowledge of Natural environment and Art.

Languages.


Place: At school.

Level: 8-9 old years pupils.

Time: School year.

Activity:
Type: Worksheets.
Description:

Identify and classify elements, look for preservation systems. See Roman menus, their prices, cooking tools, observe primary and secondary sources, etc...

Material:

Dossier for pupils and teachers and a truck on loan filled with natural food or reproductions, preserving systems, a game, lamps and amphorae, wall charts with names, boxes with identifying clues.

Time: From 1 to 5 days.
Means of transpot: No.

Observations:

Teachers in charge of the activity will have to take and give back the material to the CdA in time. This activity is designed to be autonomous.
