We give material to pupils and students and the have to classify food, distinguish between preservation systems and see which ones were unknown to Romans. Thus, we work on aspects kinds of kitchens, tools, prices, menus, meals, social status, timetables, etc. We also work on language skills: roots, suffixes, comparing languages and already-made sentences, and we refer to primary sources and their approach to Roman food.
