23.- Preparing Roman Tarragona

Objectives:

  To know the main features of a Roman city and understand the morphology of the Roman city of Tarraco.

  To identify the main buildings of a Roman city and their function.

  To discover daily life in Roman Tarragona and its spreading through the Roman world.

Level: From 5 to 17 years old students.

Description:

Introduction in to the reading and analyses of the Roman city of Tarraco: urban structure, constructive types, the structure of the Fortress, kinds of dwellings… The most important buildings and their function, systems of life, habits, fashion…

Material:

A map on the Roman city of Tarraco, reproductions: of the Roman fortress, structure of a “domus”, clothes and games, lamps.

Time: One morning.
Means of transport: On foot.
